I didn’t think to relate my chronic pain to my anxiety, but as a youth, physical touch always seemed to calm me and have a healing effect. It wasn’t until I started receiving massages that I realized how much better I could feel with regular bodywork. My anxiety symptoms got better as I got older and learned to ground myself.
One day at a job fair, I came across a massage therapist offering chair massage sessions. Knowing my pain, my mother encouraged me to try it out. Minutes later, I was surprised how differently my body felt and how easily the therapist seemed to find my problem areas! It piqued my curiosity, so I started to look into massage therapy as a career. I obtained my massage therapy license in 2013. During my training I learned how to help others in a meaningful way which had a profound effect on me. My confidence improved, and I knew I had a new purpose to help others who were struggling with physical pain as well. My education grew my conviction of prioritizing my own self-care too.
I am certified in different massage techniques to help with chronic stress and pain. I’m always striving to continue my education and grow my skill set to better serve you. I like the challenge of determining what is causing your issues and working with you to solve those issues over time. One of my favorite techniques to promote relaxation is hot stone massage, as well as therapeutic deep tissue techniques to help you reach your goals.
