Hello! My name is Maggie. I am a Senior Hair Stylist here at Hair Therapy Salon & Day Spa-WELCOME!
I love to empower my guests by coaching them on their at-home hair care and styling needs. I like to give all of my guests the tools to feel confident and able to re-create their desired hairstyles at home with ease. When you come and sit down in my chair, you can expect to be heard. We will discuss your likes, dislikes, and any other struggles you might be having so that we can meet your hair goals together.
I’m a Kansas City native and moved to Columbia with my family in late summer 2019. We came to the area to be close to extended family while we raise our now 4.5-year-old daughter, Millie. We also have an older 4-legged fur baby named Henry-the French bulldog. In 2016 I graduated from a wonderful cosmetology school in Kansas City called, “Z Hair Academy.”
Many of my own personal experiences and hair needs have contributed to my desire to specialize in precision-detailed cutting. As someone with VERY FINE, short hair I know how difficult it can be to achieve certain results with hair that has very specific requirements or “perceived drawbacks”. I pride myself with being able to deliver flattering, aesthetically balanced haircuts with great movement in all the right places. I am passionate about creating looks that compliment someone’s natural features while accentuating their existing beauty. I also love doing hair extensions with my clients. It’s very rewarding to help them achieve their goals of longer and/or thicker hair.
The right choices of complimentary cut and color can be totally transformative for someone from the inside out! Creating styles with the right balance of hilites and lowlites to establish dimension and depth is an art form and one of my favorite ways to showcase personal style. I also love creating everything from a very natural sun-kissed balayage to a super fun rainbow of fashion colors. The opportunity for creative expression is limitless.
When I am not behind the chair, I enjoy being with my family doing just about anything. I love to try new things, go new places, and make new friends. I love sushi, good movies, good conversation, and I absolutely love to laugh.
Every hair type is beautiful and I love being able to set my guests up for a “GREAT HAIR DAY”, EVERYDAY! I would be thrilled to have you in for a consultation!
